I'm trying to figure out a way to tap into the local art scene. I could be wrong, but I'm just not sure if there's a place in exciting Topeka for my fantasy art. So I started looking around Kansas City for some stuff adn came across ConQuest39, a sci-fi and fantasy convention. I have never been to a convention, wouldn't know how to go about preparing for one, but I'd like to try it out. Its probably already too late for me to participate in the art show this year as its in May, but I'm going to find out. I dont' know if my stuff is even good enough for taking to a convention, but we'll see.
So I've been selling art on ebay on and off for about a year now. I haven't been too successful, its a big world out there on ebay. The only thing that I have that sells regularly is my mermaids, and they basically all go to one person. Yay, I have one dedicated fan!! ;-) But for some reason I still loooove listing stuff on ebay and keeping up with the auctions, just hoping that I may one day create a small following for my artwork. Since I was not exactly being all that profitable and I was never gaining new stars, I came up with a little idea for ACEO's that I hoped would always sell, even if not for much money. My goal was to pay for my ebay fees and receive more stars, hence my Pink Monkeys were created. The idea behind my little monkies is that they can do anything and be anyone and should always be very humorous. I list them all at 99 cents so they'll be more likely to get bids. I'm on number 58 right now, and every one I've ever listed has sold, granted for under $10, but they do pay for my ebay fees for all my other art I list and give me new feedback. But now I'm completely addicted to these little guys and they are loads of fun to come up with. I'm going to try to do one a day, but they do take around 2 hours to complete so that probably won't happen. Here are a couple of my favorite Pink Monkeys so far. :-D If you wanna see the rest I've uploaded them on my website so you can go
